  1. Peel, quarter and cook potatoes in salted water (with the lid on the pot) until soft.
  2. Heat milk and butter and mash the potatoes (still warm) into this with a potato masher.
  3. Stir with a whisk several times until the mixture is creamy. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg.
